CMU Chapter's Sexual Assault Inquiries
About the Project
The SPJ chapter at CMU participated in the annual SPJ Sunshine Week. Sunshine Week is a week dedicated to the freedom of information, where SPJ chapters from all over work on Freedom of Information projects. This year the week fell on the week of March 11-17.
On February 22, members of our chapter gathered to write and send out FOIA and FOIL requests to Mid-American Conference universities. Our chapter decided to look at universities similar to CMU and see how the other universities from other states reacted to Freedom of Information requests. We compiled the data we received and compared how the 12 universities reacted, which showed us how different each state and university interprets FOI.
